I won’t tell you I find your project wonderfully likeable. A blog is made to exchange isn’t it?
Maybe Ididn’t understand well, but the house can’t move from one place to another, so it’s just “nomad” because the pieces of the house can travel ?
I don’t imagin the owner of the house building himself his house (not like a tent) or removing the pieces one by one to move to another place and there rebuild the house..
Moreover, is a glass entrance (and a sink!) needed if you’re located in sahara, as in your advertissement? I also would like to know if the dwelling (and so the inhabitant)can resist to sand, winds, snow on the roof (resistance) or extreme heat , even with the air conditionning?
I noticed that modern materials were used to build the house, i wonder what are they and what problems did you met for the project (isolation, security, resistance,…).
About the ecological issue, it has in my opinion a big impact on the site where it is located and i doubt the materials are made of recuperated materials. Maybe you mean it’s ecological because it has a long duration..
I have nothing to say about the aesthetics issues (modern, adaptable, variety and choice, fashionnable..), but it’s obvious it isn’t something affordable to the common of people, not convenient at all ( so big! why did you put glass, smthing heavy in a moving structure ??), definitely adapted for urban or gentle countryside site.
Despite all the comfort you gave to the house, I keep thinking it would be such a boring life in it, contrary to the adventure of a real nomad life.
Therefore i may conclude it is a house made for rich ones who want to have a fake nomad life, without sacrifying their little comfort(their designed chair?). The only interest I find is that it’s a more esthetic already-built room, to place in cities.
I don’t like your project (unfortunately already sold) ; I sincerly hope you won’t have success ; it would mean people are getting more & more uninteresting..
Sorry because I don’t speak german, I hope ther will be someone to understand my words and I would like to have your point of view and reactions about it. Thanks.

Hi 2fany!
Thanx for your feedback, even if its critical and maybe aswell a bit hard! But you’re right, a blog is made to exchange and therefore i work on an english translation so we can make it more international!
To the nomad-thought of the house… of course its more comfortable than a tent and you could build it up and disassemble it on your own… but it would take you longer and that wouldnt make sense at all!
The Nomadhome is not actually meant FOR nomadic people but for “modern-nomads” as job travellers & people that dont want to be bound all life long at one place and give all theyr money to the bank till they die!
The inventor Gerold Peham decided to build his own house modular, flexible, changeable and expandable… thats what he did… he just rent a place and put it there - which made everything cheaper… to buy and build a house here would cost massively - so he found his own perfect solution to the problem.
And then… people came and said it would be a great and innovative idea… even if you dont like our concept you have to admitt that its could be an option for lifestyle. The material that the Nomadhome is built in can be chosen, you also can have it wooden if youre mor comfortable with that, and the window-facades dont need to be that big, but as you can see most of the people like the big class-facades a lot… its not as heavy as you think to transport and everything fits on standard lorries (33 sqm a lorry - 3 modules).
To the sentence: “I keep thinking it would be such a boring life in it, contrary to the adventure of a real nomad life.”
i’d say: I’d would be quite exciting to live with the Nomadhome in contrary to ORDINARY living - where people dont move at all! And Nomadlife as you see it is of course more exciting but nomadic people like gypsies dont regulary exist anymore because the modern structure doesnt let them life theyr culture… which indeed is very sad!
But that’s not the issue - maybe you like to have a look at our homepage to get further information about all the ecological facts… it’s already in english!
thank you for leaving a comment and for thinking about the topic!
greetings from rainy salzburg!

I love the Normad Home! I agree with 2fany in that it doesn’t look very portable to me. You need a crane to install it and a skip-loader to dig out the land. That is a heavy footprint ecologically speaking. You said it took 4 guys 3 days. I feel that is four guys that are really familiar with the product and three days because they worked like crazy! Also in the U.S. you could not rent land. Only in a trailer park and this probably would not qualify as a resident in a trailer park because it does not have wheels. Also many states in the U.S. have a lot of rules as to what kind of buildings can be put where. However, in the state of New Mexico (USA) this would be perfect as many people put Airstream Trailers on their land in New Mexico. I like the expandable idea and would probably customize it with Gerold’s help to suit the environment. Good job! I think it is brilliant.

Hi Lynda!
Thanx a lot for your feedback! We’re just building up our market in Europe but definitly one day we intend to come over to the U.S.
I didnt know that you couldnt rent land in the US? In Europe this is quite normal and therefore the Nomadhome is a good solution for people that dont want to buy anything! Of course we’re also offering it to companies for temporary office solutions and shops!
To the building of the Nomadhome: It’s not as complicated to install as it might look to you!
thank u for leaving a comment!

I think your idea is fabulous. Aesthetically pleasing, economically sound, and so fitting for the era in which we live. Brilliant! Let us know when your product comes to the United States! I would love to live in a NomadHome!
